Farnham Cookery School
Learn  Taste  Socialise!

Hi all of my wonderful Cook with Steph chefs. Every Saturday at 10.30am I am streaming FREE cookery sessions on Instagram live IGTV so we can keep the classes going & our love of cooking.

These sessions are suitable for everyone - children who would like to cook with their parents, are old enough to cook on their own, those of you who would like to learn a new skill or are in need of some support and to feel connected during these difficult times. To join in the class, simply follow me on Instagram @cookwithsteph_  click on LIVE at the top of the page each Saturday morning.

The videos will also be streamed later on Facebook and IGTV

Coming up are delicious teatime scones & an easy DIY butter; Easter cookies; fajita wraps & salsa; fruity oat bars & NHS rainbow fruit skewers; all-day breakfast frittata; mini carrot cakes; quick and easy pizza; Auntie jo's legendary chocolate brownies, mini quiches; lemon drizzle cake; healthy chicken/prawn korma; crunchy fish tacos and slaw; veggie burgers; rainbow salad.

I will post all the ingredients you need in advance here. I will also give you as many alternatives as possible in case you are struggling to get the food.

A Steph's Top Tip for these live sessions is to have everything weighed out & ready before you start.

I have had the best time teaching you ALL to cook and I am looking forward to welcoming many more of you to my Saturday morning Cook Alongs. Let's keep the fun going & keep busy.  If you have any requests, message me & I will add your recipes to the list.  Send me pics of you making your dishes and your wonderful creations & I will post a gallery of our chef community in 'Recipes'. Come on all of you STAR BAKERS let’s get together & cook together!

Lots of love and stay safe, Steph xxx

4th July

 Veggie burgers - in 'recipes'

11th July

I have had a request for a sushi lesson from lovely Sophie and Annabel who are cooking along every week.

These are fun to make, and a great family activity. You can bespoke your sushi and fill them with your fave ingredients.

Use cling film and a tea towel to roll them. Alternatively you can buy a sushi rolling mat £1.30 from most supermarkets https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/yutaka-sushi-rolling-mat.   The sushi nori are the seaweed papers, which you can also buy in most supermarkets and you'll need some sushi rice. Clear Spring also stock all the ingredients. https://www.clearspring.co.uk/blogs/recipes/how-to-make-sushi-at-home

Makes 24 pieces, you can halve the recipe to make 12.

What you need:

  • 250g uncooked sushi rice - You will need to cook this before the session so I will put step by step instructions in the 'recipes' section

  • 340ml cold water

  • 4 sheets  Sushi Nori (these are the seaweed papers)  - use the large square ones

  • ½ cucumber

  • ½ red pepper

  • Use your fave ingredients for the filling, a few slices smoked salmon, tuna mixed with mayo, avocado, chives, carrot. coloured pepper
