COOK ALONG WITH STEPH LIVE!

 

Hi all of my wonderful Cook with Steph chefs. Every Saturday at 10.30am I am streaming FREE cookery sessions on Instagram live IGTV so we can keep the classes going & our love of cooking.

​These sessions are suitable for everyone - children who would like to cook with their parents, are old enough to cook on their own, those of you who would like to learn a new skill or are in need of some support and to feel connected during these difficult times. To join in the class, simply follow me on Instagram @cookwithsteph_  click on LIVE at the top of the page each Saturday morning.

Coming up are delicious teatime scones & an easy DIY butter; Easter cookies; fajita wraps & salsa; fruity oat bars & NHS rainbow fruit skewers; all-day breakfast frittata; mini carrot cakes; quick and easy pizza; Auntie jo's legendary chocolate brownies, mini quiches; lemon drizzle cake; healthy chicken/prawn korma; crunchy fish tacos and slaw; veggie burgers; rainbow salad.

 

I will post all the ingredients you need in advance here. I will also give you as many alternatives as possible in case you are struggling to get the food.

 

A Steph's Top Tip for these live sessions is to have everything weighed out & ready before you start.

I have had the best time teaching you ALL to cook and I am looking forward to welcoming many more of you to my Saturday morning Cook Alongs. Let's keep the fun going & keep busy.  If you have any requests, message me & I will add your recipes to the list.  Send me pics of you making your dishes and your wonderful creations & I will post a gallery of our chef community in 'Recipes'. Mini Quiches

Cheese and leek or traditional quiche Lorraine - these delicious mini quiches won't hang around long delicious warm straight from the oven. Learn the tips to successful shortcrust pastry. I use a 12 hole bun/mince pie tin for these.

 

Makes 12

Quiche Lorraine

  • 150g plain flour, plus extra for rolling

  • 75g cold butter or block margarine (keep it in the fridge until we are ready to start

  • 3-4 tbsp cold water

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 small onion

  • 5 rashers back or streaky bacon (150g) 

  • 1 medium egg

  • 100ml milk

  • 50-75g Cheddar cheese (gruyere and parmesan also work well)

 

Leek and Cheese

  • Replace the bacon with 1 small leek & add 1 tsp fresh or 1/2 dried thyme

Equipment:

1 x 12 hole bun tin, 1 mixing bowl, 1 round bladed knife, 1 tbsp measure, rolling pin, grater, chopping board, small sharp knife, measuring jug, small bowl to beat the egg in, fork, teaspoon, about a 7 cm round pastry cutter 

Steph's Top Tip - have everything weighed out before you start and preheat the  oven to 200C, fan180C, gas 6

Everyones fave! I use a  900g/2lb loaf tin or you can make them as cupcakes

ADULT COOKERY EXPERIENCES

For beginners and the more advanced cook. From Indian street food to an introduction to breadmaking. Come and enjoy a cookery class or tasting demo, maybe even a glass of wine, in the Cook with Steph kitchen.

CHILDREN'S COOKERY CLASSES

My cooking clubs run over the school holidays, after school and at the weekends. Your child will have great fun learning to cook new dishes, making friends while improving their practical skills and independence in the kitchen. These classes fill up fast, so keep an eye on events coming up
Suitable for all abilities. Ages 8-13.
